DMCA Copyright System

Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512) notices and counter-notices.

How It Works

Streamz respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. Under the DMCA, copyright holders (or their authorized agents) may notify us of allegedly infringing content.

  1. A rights holder files a Takedown Notice using the form on this page, including the statutory statements and signature.
  2. Streamz reviews the notice for completeness under 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3).
  3. If valid, we remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material and notify the affected creator.
  4. The creator may file a Counter-Notice if they believe the content was removed in error.
  5. If a counter-notice is filed, the original complainant has 10–14 business days to initiate a legal action; otherwise the material is restored.

Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with the DMCA, Streamz maintains a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers. Three valid takedown notices against a single account will result in permanent termination.

Note: Under §512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed due to mistake or misidentification, is liable for damages. False claims may result in account suspension and legal consequences.
